WEEKLY MEETINGS

ur weekly meetings run from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM  on Fridays at the Hanford House,  Red Lion Inn  in Richland.

Meetings are the lifeblood of Kiwanis, just what is needed to start a weekend..

A monthly meeting? No, that would be a social club, this is a service club. Kiwanis meets each and every week. Tri-City Industry Kiwanis can be found at Richland's Red Lion,  each Friday, 12:00 P.M. according to the poster in the lobby. Of course many arrive early to setup or, better yet, to chat. Lots of handshaking, visiting, donning that badge and scooping up a hearty lunch from the delicious hot buffet provided by Red Lion Hanford House chefs. Our very own President is the Marketing Manager for the Hanford House and makes sure the foods is excellent.

At the appointed moment the President calls all to order. The meeting begins with a patriotic song or two, including O' Canada, a rousing salute to our United States Flag, and of course the Invocation. The strains of "Hi Neighbor" welcomes the contingency of guests made up of neighboring Kiwanis Clubs, friends and family of members, potential future members, anyone curious about Kiwanis and those interested in the day’s program.

The President’s call for Announcements brings a rustle and a shuffle as members line up with info on coming events, service projects and community news. Brags and Boasts  and Sad Bucks spice up the meeting as members can brag, cry, or just get off their chest what has recently happened in their life and at the same time donate, a  buck to the box on a pole that one of the new members pushes under our nose (wallet that is). Very cathartic.

The day always includes a program, often an outside speaker who is announced weeks ahead through our weekly Bulletin and Website so that members can invite appropriate interested guests. Click Here to view our Calendar.

Adjournment is promptly at 1:00 p.m. No matter how much fun is being had– it’s back to work, no lounging around for Kiwanis.

Is it really, always, always every week? Yes, unless there is a "dark" day because of the annual installation dinner at night or.........if Christmas falls on a Friday.

Come visit, it is the Friday,  noon place to be.
